Why Michael Avenatti Was at the VMAs

Oh hey, it’s Michael Avenatti. At the MTV Video Music Awards. But: Why, exactly?
Just two days after speaking at the Hillsborough County Democrats’ Kennedy King Dinner in Florida, the outspoken lawyer for Stormy Daniels made a surprising appearance on the VMAs red carpet. When asked by Variety, um, just what the hell he was doing there, Avenatti smiled.
“Well, I was invited to this great event. It’s a pretty cool event,” he said. “I thought I’d show up.”
“Are you surprised?” the Variety reporter pressed.
“Little bit, little bit,” Avenatti admitted. “Hopefully it won’t be the last time.”
The conversation quickly turned to Variety asking whether Avenatti is seriously considering a run in the 2020 presidential race.
“I am, I’m serious about it. I’m seriously looking at it,” Avenatti said. “I’m traveling around talking to people in the country, and I’ve been really surprised at how much enthusiasm there is for the potential.
“I’m going to make a decision, be smart about it, deliberative.”
To those that claim that only a traditional politician with “experience” can beat Trump, go back & look at the results from 2016. He beat all 15 of those candidates that he faced (crushed many). If we go down the same path and are not smart, don’t be surprised with the result.

Avenatti first teased a run in July, tweeting: “IF (big) he seeks re-election, I will run, but only if I think that there is no other candidate in the race that has a REAL chance at beating him. We can’t relive 2016. I love this country, our values and our people too much to sit by while they are destroyed. #FightClub #Basta.”
When asked by Variety if he could win, the lawyer responded, “I think I have a real shot if I decide to do it. It’s a big decision, though.”
