Westworld Fans Found a Clue in Episode 6 That Proves Clementine Will Return in Season 3
Earlier this season, Westworld subverted the expectation that some of our favorite robot friends from Delos parks had made their way into the real world at the end of Season Two via Dolores/Charlotte Hale’s purse. Nope, Chalores didn’t smuggle Teddy and co. out of the park—instead, her allies in her new war against Incite actually turned out to be a gang of copies of her own mind.
The reveal that there were a bunch of Doloreses running around made sense, especially as the OG Dolores isn’t super into having friends these days, but was also slightly disappointing. It seemed to close the door on the idea that we’d get to see other hosts from the park return to the show. Luckily, Episode Six changed all that—instead of Dolores working with her host pals, it’s going to be Maeve banding together with her fellow robots. And one clever Reddit user spotted a clue as to who one of those allies might be.
When Chalores checks out the printing queue on her computer—host printing, that is—she sees that four robots are in the process of being made. Each is identified with a code:
A Reddit user compared the codes to an old screenshot of the vital data for Clementine Pennyfeather, Maeve’s old friend and fellow sex worker at the Westworld brothel. And it turns out that Clem’s ID number is CP0124831983. That means that she’s likely poised to return to help Maeve with the battle against Dolores.
Now, Maeve’s ID is HC1983012522, and Hector’s is HC3208173692. Thanks to Chalores, poor Hector’s print job is permanently jammed. But that still means that there’s one more host—SH205817402—in the queue. Who that might be is still anyone’s guess. One possibility is that the forth host is Lawrence, William’s traveling buddy/hostage from Season One. With Bernard and Stubbs seemingly getting William back in the action at the end of this episode, it would be pretty tidy for the one-time Man in Black, now clad all in white, to be reunited with one of the hosts he spent the most time with in the park.
And then there’s the Instagram photo. A Reddit user pointed out that the actor who plays Lawrence, Clifton Collins Jr., posted a picture last fall in which he’s hanging out with Thandie Newton and Angela Sarafyan, the actors who play Maeve and Clem. (Oh, and King of the Hill creator Mike Judge was palling around with them, too.) Could the photo be foreshadowing a host reunion? With only two episodes left in the season, we’ll probably find out pretty soon.
