‘WandaVision’ Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Plot

It’s been a long road for Wanda Maximoff and Vision. They lived through over a half-century of American sitcoms. Put up with Agatha Harkness’s trolling. Had twins. Raised them. Fought off a legion of military trucks. Then, Wanda and Vision said goodbye for the third time.

The journey was long, hard, and strangely beautiful. But even though it all came to a head in WandaVision’s finale on Disney+, it’s not over yet. Wanda disappears to a cabin in the woods. Vision gives his memories to another Vision who promptly runs away. Agatha, apparently, will be trapped in the role of the nosy neighbor forever. Yep, it’s a lot to unpack. Here’s everything you need to know about the future of WandaVision’s leading superheroes.

Will There be a Season Two of WandaVision?

Hate to break this one to you, but the title of WandaVision’s finale is “The Series Finale.” So a Season Two isn’t totally in the cards. But never say never. In Marvel boss Kevin Feige’s TCA address, he left the door slightly open.

“I’ve been at Marvel too long to say a definite ‘No’ to anything as far as a second season of WandaVision,” Feige said. “Lizzie Olsen will go from WandaVision to the Doctor Strange film.”So, according to Feige, we’ll see Wanda in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness next. Which is a whole other book to unpack.

Where Could Wanda and Vision’s Stories Go in the Future?

But first? Let’s start with the fate of our favorite synthezoid. In WandaVision’s finale, WandaVision Vision imbues White Vision with all the memories of the Vision who died at the hands of Thanos. (Too many Visions!) The memory-infused White Vision, inexplicably, zips away halfway through the finale. Later on, the WandaVision Vision dies. Though, conceivably, someday we could pick up with the Vision who disappeared. We asked Vision actor Paul Bettany what that might look like.

“Well, fuck. How do I do this without spoilers?” he said. “I guess we’ve seen what happens to Wanda when love is taken away from her. And I wonder what that would look like with Vision… I mean, that’s the thing, right? I’ve never had a loved one to lose… I don’t know what grief is because I’ve never had a loved one to lose. There is so much to get into with him because it’s been ten minutes here, ten minutes there, in the movies. Now we’re sort of just starting to sort of peel back some stuff.”

As for Wanda, she finally had her big superhero moment in the finale. She realizes her destiny as the Scarlet Witch, finally accepting that spell-making could magnify her powers. After that, she dissolves the Hex, says her goodbyes to all the poor New Jerseyans she trapped inside of it, and goes on her merry way. Says seeya later to Monica Rambeau, too, who looks primed for a massive role in Captain Marvel 2. But it looks like Wanda will be more than ready to fight along the Sorcerer Supreme in Multiverse of Madness, whatever that’ll entail. WandaVision’s end-credits scene reveals that Wanda’s going full Folklore for her training montage. We see her in a cabin in the woods, studying the Darkhold—AKA the creepy magic book once held by Harkness. So whatever’s in store for Wanda, bet that her powers will have leveled up twofold by the next time we see her. And that her new civilian clothes will be rustic chic.
