Tyler Oakley has raised over $100,000 for charity in less than 24 hours.
For the past three years, the insanely popular YouTube personality has dedicated the month before his birthday to raising money for The Trevor Project, a charity dedicated to helping at-risk LGBTQ youth, and this year proves to be no exception.
Yesterday, Oakley unveiled plans to raise $500,000 for the charity in his latest fundraising effort. However, he appears to be on track to raise far more than that.
The video announcing his latest fundraising effort was published just after 4pm EST. At the time of writing this article, just 16 hours and 12 minutes later, Oakley’s incredible fandom have already raised $100,503 for charity, with a full 48 days remaining before the campaign ends.

For the second year in a row, Tyler has partnered with social giving platform Prizeo to reward supporters. Depending on the amount donated, fans may receive exclusive t-shirts and postcards, or signed photos and posters.
Everyone that donates at least $5 will also be entered into a raffle to win a VIP trip to California as Tyler’s special guest for VidCon 2015.
Tyler’s exploding popularity over the past year have solidified his position not only as a magnet for brand deals, but also as a fund-raising powerhouse.
In the first year of his charitable campaign, with just 600k subscribers, Tyler managed to raise just over $29k for The Trevor Project. Last year, he set a goal for raising $150,000 for the charity. However, with a subscriber count pushing 4 million at that point, they blew past that goal, raising $200k in just 6 days and more than half a million dollars by the end of the campaign.
It’s anyone’s guess what the total amount raised this year will be, however, if the donations continue at their current rate he may be on track to beat the $1.1 million raised by Yogscast last month.
Oakley is also expected to bring back his weekly live-streams, where fans may be treated to iconic moments like the infamous ConTroyLer kiss if they pass their fundraising goals.
