T-Pain Launched Wiscansin University, His Very Own Fake School

Wiscansin University—which boasts 75 uncertified professors, an average GPA of 2.5, and a national ranking of “dead last”—is open for spring.

T-Pain’s hilarious fake school started as a decade-old song lyric. “I can put you in a mansion / Somewhere in Wiscansin,” he sang on his 2008 hit “Can’t Believe It.” The painful rhyme became a meme, and the subsequent “university” was created in an attempt to do what the internet does best—use viral jokes to turn a profit.

The school may be fake, but the branded mugs and sweatshirts it’s selling are definitely real. But even if you’re not in the market for Wiscansin swag, the website is pretty darn funny, from the opening greeting by “Dean Tallahassee R. Pain” to its extensive course offerings. Classes include Bottoms Up Film Studies, which “dives into the science behind casting an attractive and diverse cast for music videos,” and The Art of Sprung, which aims to “provide methods for overcoming the barriers that lie within and enhance the individual’s flirting IQ.” With all that and a list of notable alumni that includes DJ Khaled, Kanye West, the Lonely Island, and Mary J. Blige, who wouldn’t want to apply?
