Sacha Baron Cohen’s New Character Is Demanding An Apology From Sarah Palin
Here we are in the dumbest time in America and prominent Republicans are in a feud with a fictional character created by a stunt comedian. This week, former Alaska governor and noted snowmobile owner Sarah Palin revealed she was outraged that Sacha Baron Cohen tricked her into an interview for his new Showtime series, Who Is America?.
According to Palin, Cohen posed as a wounded veteran during the interview. “Mock politicians and innocent public personalities all you want, if that lets you sleep at night, but HOW DARE YOU mock those who have fought and served our country,” Palin said. Joe Walsh, the former congressman turned conservative radio host (not the Eagles guitarist), was also tricked by this Sacha Baron Cohen character, and started the call to boycott Showtime because of the comedian’s stunt.
Now Cohen’s character has responded to outraged conservatives.
This character’s name is Billy Wayne Ruddick Jr., PhD, a citizen journalist who runs the website, Truthbary.org. As the website explains:
It is a collection of studies and investigations carried out by Dr. Billy Wayne Ruddick for the good of the American people. Now it the time when the American people must take back control of our media. The mainstream media cannot be trusted. They have there own agenda and are beholden to the whim of the deep state and the illuminati. We must take control of our facts and our truth. We must stand together to fight the dark forces of clintons and muslims and Godless peoples to stand strong for our religious freedom and hold forth for what is right in our country. Now is the time for the silent majority to come together ansd seek out our truth.
The latest post on the website is demanding Palin respond to her mischaracterization of Ruddick Jr., PhD as a wounded veteran. “It was I that interviewed you. I did NOT say I was a War Vet,” he writes. “I was in the service—not military, but United Parcel, and I fought for my country once—when I shot a Mexican who came onto my property.”
If anything, this should give you an idea of what Cohen has in store for his new show—a new character who will force his subjects to reveal their dumbest and darkest nature. And all this is happening before his show’s Sunday night premiere.
