Republican Senators Celebrated Their Win on Saturday Night Live

Saturday Night Live kicked off its latest episode with a cold open that tackled Saturday’s contentious confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. In the sketch, CNN anchor Don Lemon, played by Kenan Thompson, dispatched reporters to the GOP and Democratic locker rooms for post-game interviews.

In the GOP locker room “a lot of pacemakers were put to the test” as senators like Lindsay Graham (Kate McKinnon) and Mitch McConnell (Beck Bennett) partied. “Everyone’s pumped,” said Bennett, “From white men over 60 to white men over 70.”

“We made a lot of women real worried today,” said McKinnon. “But I’m not getting pregnant so I don’t care.”

Susan Collins, the Republicans’ “one girl,” was played by Cecily Strong. She defended her decision to vote for Kavanaugh, saying “I think it’s important to believe women, until it’s time to stop.” Check out the full sketch below.
