Kanye West Still Doesn’t Have an Answer to Jimmy Kimmel’s Trump Question

The first segment of Kanye West’s Thursday night interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! ended in stumped silence as he considered a question from the show’s host. “You so famously and so powerfully said, ‘George Bush doesn’t care about black people,'” said Kimmel. “That makes me wonder, what makes you think that Donald Trump does—or any people, at all?” His query was greeted by four seconds of silence, before Kimmel cut to commercial break.

Kanye took to Twitter Saturday to clear up any confusion—while still completely avoiding answering Kimmel’s question.

On Jimmy Kimmel we had a great time having a dialogue. I’m reading that I was stumped by a question. Let me clarify the click bait. I wasn’t stumped. I wasn’t given a chance to answer the question.

The question was so important I took time to think. And then I was hit with the let’s go to commercial break. That interview showed strong personalities with different opinions having a civil conversation.

We’ll continue to wait for West to produce some proof that refutes the mountains of evidence suggesting that Donald Trump does not, in fact, care about black people. The real answer could lie in the possibility that movin’ on up from Chicago to Calabasas may have changed the extent to which Kanye West himself cares about black people.

Ye also dropped a new song, the exceedingly lightweight “XTCY.” Here, he abandons the more serious topics discussed on Kimmel in favor of creeping over his famous Kardashian sisters-in-law. “You got sick thoughts? I got more of ‘em,” West raps. “You got a sister-in-law you would smash? I got four of ’em.”

He continues in a similar vein:

Damn, those is your sistersYou did somethin’ unholy to them picturesDamn, you need to be locked upNah, we need a bigger hot tub

The song’s cover art features a photo of West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, alongside her sisters at Kylie Jenner’s 21st birthday party. The original photo, which was posted to Jenner’s Instagram, featured clan mom Kris Jenner. She was helpfully cropped out of the cover art version for Kanye’s perving ease.

Producer Clark Kent posted a download link to the song on Twitter.
