Jason Sudeikis Punched Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian Finale and Star Wars Fans Are Pissed
Warning: What I’m about to tell you is extremely upsetting. You might not want to start the new year this way.
Baby Yoda was punched.
He was smacked. He was biffed! Baby Yoda was socked right in his precious little green face. Ouchie.
Fans of The Mandalorian hardly had any time to prepare for such a thing. Only a few minutes into last week’s finale, we catch up with the two scout troopers (like stormtroopers, but on space bikes) tasked with abducting Baby Yoda and delivering him to Imperial officer/big bad of The Mandalorian, Moff Gideon.
While they’re waiting in the desert for Gideon’s orders, the scout troopers get a little curious about the tiny alien in their flap backpack. But whenever they hear Baby Yoda making any of his wide assortment of baby noises (maybe he was just saying hi!), they give him a big ol’ thump.
Thankfully, there’s a shot at justice. Since the episode aired, we’ve learned the identities of the Baby Yoda-boppers—they were played by Adam Pally and Jason Sudeikis. Even though these characters were murdered by our favorite nurse droid, IG-11, fans have honed in on Sudeikis (who takes repeated shots at Baby Yoda, opposed to the other scout trooper, who wops BY him after he bites him) for his war crimes.
Even Sudeikis’s old comedy troupe, The Second City, has nearly cut off ties with Sudeikis.
Fear not: We’ve learned that Baby Yoda has entered concussion protocol, and will only miss 2-4 weeks of cuddle time. He’s expected to return for Season Two.
