Elliott Morgan has returned to YouTube as the host of a brand new show on Mashable’s YouTube channel.
You may remember Morgan left Philip DeFranco’s SourceFed channel last month, telling fans he had become too comfortable with his routine there and wanted to take more risks.
So, for his first job since leaving SourceFed Morgan takes on the ‘Mashable Minute,’ where he comically breaks down an interesting topic of the day in sixty seconds or less. This isn’t exactly a huge departure from SourceFed’s own ’20 Minutes Or Less’ style of content; however, no one can deny that he’s at least taking a huge risk wearing a plaid shirt on a multi-colored background. Gutsy. Not to mention, we really miss seeing his face on that plain white background on SourceFed.
“I’ll be sharing my thoughts on what’s happening on Mashable, from science, to technology, to web culture, to memes,” Morgan said explaining the format of his new show, which is intended to drive more traffic to the Mashable website.
The first ‘Mashable Minute’ features Morgan breaking down Movoto’s ‘Netflix Vs. Sex‘ infographic, and comparing the results with his own twitter history.
Ever since they struck a deal with Collective Digital Studios to produce new online content, Mashable has been enlisting YouTube personalities to help them reach new audiences and produce engaging content to appeal to millennials that favor formats like SourceFed over news websites and blogs like Mashable.
Tech vlogger Lamarr Wilson was the first YouTuber to join the Mashable ranks after taking over from Mashable’s Ruby on Rails developer Kevin Gisi as the host of their ‘Socially Awkward‘ series, and Morgan is sure to be the first of many new additions to that list as Mashasble taps more creators to produce content for them in the near future.
