Dennis Rodman crashed Pearl Jam‘s concert at Chicago’s Wrigley Field Saturday night, appearing onstage before the band’s encore to declare his love for the city that became his home during his years playing for the Bulls. He also shouted out the other region that’s dear to his heart—North Korea.
“There are two groups of people who have always supported me,” said Rodman, according to Consequence of Sound. “North Korea and Chicago.”
Rodman is a devoted Pearl Jam fan, and has said that their music saved his life. During his bonkers MAGA-hatted CNN interview earlier this year, Rodman thanked frontman Eddie Vedder for his support. And in 2016, another Pearl Jam Wrigley Field concert found Rodman cradling Vedder in his arms mid-set.
Rodman and Vedder’s apparent friendship is one of those across-the-aisle pairings that are becoming rarer and rarer. Lifelong liberal Vedder is outspokenly anti-Trump—in June, he chanted “fuck you” at the president during a show, and earlier this week the band released a tour poster that appears to show Trump’s corpse being devoured by vultures.
