What is happening in our world? Who is doing what? what is going on now? These are questions that will be answered. Enjoy.
Best Movies in Theaters in March 2019 – Top Movie Releases This Month
March is looking good, friends. On top of getting more and more sunlight back by the day, there’s a whole new crop of films coming out. Leading the pack is undoubtedly the highly anticipated horror-thriller Us from Jordan Peele, but if having the holy hell scared out of you isn’t your cup of tea, then you can hit up the newly revamped Dumbo or a terrible racing movie starring Shania Twain. (No, that’s not a typo.) March has everything you could want in theaters—it just depends on what you have the appetite for.
Greta (March 1)
Well, Greta looks terrifying. When a girl finds a woman’s purse on the subway and tries to return it, they form a friendship. And then Isabelle Huppert loses her damn mind and flips a table at a restaurant because they have a connection. Okay, lady. The lesson? Never be kind to anyone.
Captain Marvel (March 8)
Oh gosh, looks like all those fake reviews didn’t work after all, y’all! Captain Marvel is coming out and you’ll just have to deal.
I’m Not Here (March 8)
Some news: Mandy Moore is married to Schmidt from New Girl and they’re raising Young Sheldon in this upcoming film about J.K. Simmons’s life of solitude. Perhaps you’ll understand I’m Not Here a bit better if you watch the trailer, but in all seriousness: it does look like the kind of film with the gravitas to make an emotional impact.
Captive State (March 15)
Captive State somehow mixes science fiction, extraterrestrial life, government lying, and slavery into one movie. Oh, and John Goodman is there.
The Hummingbird Project (March 15)
Jesse Eisenberg, Alexander Skarsgård, and Salma Hayek star in this drama about fancy smart people using technology to make a ton of money. Sounds like another Jesse Eisenberg movie, right? This one is all about high-frequency trading, so at least it won’t end with your mom posting her favorite Bible verse meme for all your friends to see?
Us (March 22)
Jordan Peele’s newest horror endeavor looks nothing short of incredible and somehow manages to turn “I Got 5 On It” into a scary song, which is an incredible feat on its own. Come for the scares, stay for the alarming social commentary!
Dumbo (March 29)
The elephant with the impossibly big ears is back at it, but this time, it’s live-action. Dumbo returns to the metaphorical big top at the end of the month in Disney’s newest reboot of one of their classic animated films.
Trading Paint (March 22)
Listen. You know what you’re getting when you have John Travolta and Shania Twain staring in a movie about race car driving. It’s going to be hot garbage. Hot, beautiful, delicious garbage.
