Best Democratic Debate Tweets and Memes for July 30 CNN Debate

In this, the year of our Lord 2019, presidential elections are more than just about getting the information you need to make a responsible electoral decision. It also is a delivery system for memes and live-debate jokes. If you aren’t doing something to make light of the two-year-long election cycle, how are you surviving?

The second set of Democratic primary debates kicked off on CNN tonight with a sprawling lineup consisting of: Marianne Williamson, Rep. Tim Ryan, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Gov. John Hickenlooper, Rep. John Delaney, and Gov. Steve Bullock. The strange lottery process from CNN seems to have done a better job of assorting candidates this round than the initial two outings.

But at the end of the night, meme queen Williamson seemed a bit more level headed. Warren massacred Delaney in a full fledged assault. And that quiet performance Bernie gave during the first debate? Left in the dust. After night one of the second round of debates, bombastic performances gave way to even spicier tweets. Below are the most ridiculous, hilarious, and pointed takes of the night because as we said before… what’s a 2019 Democratic debate without some hot takes?

And that’s just night one. The circus continues tomorrow night as seventy-nine people the rest of the Democratic field takes the stage to debate all things that will shape our nation in the next five to six years. It’s a long journey, so don’t fear tossing a few jokes out there because how else will you make it through?
