Are Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper a Couple? Gaga Responds to Bradley Cooper Oscar Rumors
Listen to Lady Gaga. The Oscars performance heard ’round the world is just that—a performance. Gaga went on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday to talk about life as an Oscar winner, but it didn’t take long until the infamous performance came up. In case you missed it, this is how the duo’s performance of “Shallow” from A Star is Born ended: Just two really good friends touching faces lovingly. Nothing to see here.
Screenshots and video clips immediately went viral. There were memes. There were theories. There were rumors. There was steaming hot goss: Are Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper a thing?
According to Gaga, the answer is a resounding: The internet is off the deep end.
“Social media, quite frankly, is the toilet of the Internet,” Gaga tells Kimmel. “What it has done to pop culture is just, like, abysmal. And yes, people saw love, and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see.”
For what it’s worth, Cooper has been married to Irina Shayk, who was sitting in the front row for most of the evening, for four years.
The singer and actress went on to explain how dedicated to the craft of creating a realistic performance had become to her, all the way down to the lighting of the Oscars performance moments before she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Original Song for A Star is Born. She explains this isn’t the first time she’s tried to create a loving aesthetic, saying, “I had my arms wrapped about Tony Bennett for three years touring the world!” You can watch the whole interview below.
The film will be re-released in theaters for one week only starting Friday, with an additional 12 minutes of film cut from the original movie. And after that, the pretend affair we’ve created for Gaga and Cooper will only exist through the story of Jackson and Ally.
