AOL UK has launched its ‘AOL On’ Platform in the UK.
‘AOL On’ is already one of the largest video network in the U.S. It serves more than 1 billion content streams last month across all of AOL’s owned properties -such as The Huffington Post and TechCrunch- and their partner publishers according to comScore. Testament to AOL’s strong track record when it comes to monetizing video content, AOL On served more than four billion ad streams on their content network, which includes more than 750,000 videos.
AOL is now extending that reach to the UK with an impressive collection of content partners that include Endemol, Channel 4 News, MyMovies, and Little Dot Studios. These partners will provide clips ranging from reality tv show snippets to movie trailers for AOL to host on ‘AOL On.’ These clips will be hosted be a large network of publishers, which at launch includes the Telegraph Media Group, UK ISP TalkTalk, and instructional video website VideoJug. AOL’s own online publications Huffington Post UK, Parentdish, and TechCrunch UK will publish videos from AOL On.
The UK is the first market AOL will experiment with as it brings its international plans for the AOL On platform to fruition. A dedicated app for the UK market is also due to hit the Apple App Store and Google Play in early April.
