Troye Sivan has unveiled the first single from his upcoming EP.
“Happy Little Pill,” the lead single on the EP, is due for release in just a few days – on July 25. However, the response to a short clip of the track in his video announcing the EP was so great, he’s uploaded the entire track to SoundCloud for everyone to enjoy.

In a Tumblr post unveiling the track, Sivan said:
I wrote this song during a bit of a rough time for someone super close to me, and for myself, and it still means as much to me as the day i wrote it, and i’m still as in love with it as the day i wrote it (which is rare for me!!).
Just from the emotional delivery of the song, you can clearly hear this is a very special song for Sivan.
The 19-year-old YouTube sensation alluded to a “secret project” for months before finally revealing that he has been working on an album, which will serve as his major label début with EMI Australia. Titled ‘TRXYE’ (which is supposed to be spelled out, and not called “Trex-Ye”), the five-track EP is due for release on August 15, with pre-orders starting July 25.
Less than an hour after the reveal, “Happy Little Pill” has already been played more than 50,000 times and is sure to become incredibly popular on SoundCloud. Sivan already achieved major success on SoundCloud after using the platform to unveil his original song “The Fault In Our Stars.” Inspired by John Green’s critically acclaimed novel of the same name, the song has been played more than 3 million times on SoundCloud.
