Despacito Break Records to Become “The Most Watched YouTube Video Of All Time”

Friday afternoon on the US East Coast, “Despacito” had logged 2.995 billion views on YouTube, giving it the title of “Most Watch YouTube Video of All Time”

The achievement of Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi’s song crushed a short reign for “See You Again,” which only scraped into the number one spot last month topping the astonishing four-and-a-half-year run of Korean artist Psy’s “Gangnam Style.”

As of today, the original Spanish version by Luis Fonsi – Despacito ft. Daddy Yankee, on Youtube has reached 3,182,000,008 views. There are 18,458836 Likes.

Gangnam Style was the first video to reach above 1 billion views back in 2012 and it has taken 4 ½ years for this to be beaten. “See you again” featuring Charlie Puth surpassed “Gangnam Style” to become The Most Watched YouTube Video Of All Time in July 2017. But the title was short lived.

“See You Again” which was a tribute to Paul Walker, an actor which starred in most of the in “The Fast and Furious” film franchise. But sadly Paul Walker died in a single-vehicle collision on November 30, 2013, alongside his friend Roger Rodas

According to Universal Music Latin Entertainment, they said “Despacito” in its original and remixed versions had reached a total 4.6 billion streams across platforms including YouTube and Spotify

The Bieber version has logged 12 weeks at number one on the US singles chart matching the 12-week reign earlier this year of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You.”

There have been many remixes of the track and even one by the Minions, which still sounds really good:

People across the world have also been taking the song and doing remixes in their own langue, or mixing up all three together. The below video is one that we found on YouTube. This is an excellent example that bring Spanish, Hindi and English together.
